Communications from NSUN

The sporadic news from NSUN does not mean nothing is happening here. In fact we are very busy. Unfortunately we haven’t had any one in post to do our communications work since August… and it may still be some time before we are able to look for a replacement. In the meantime we are able to offer some parts of our communications work as freelance opportunities:

We are looking for one or more people with extensive experience in a communications role to do the following tasks for us (it is possible to express an interest in only one part of this work):

Supporting us in completing our Communications and Media Strategy

Writing some reports following events we are currently planning

Other small pieces of writing work…

Coordinating the organisation of our annual national conference in 2008

If you are interested then please send a CV including an examples previous work by the end of February to the contact address below.

Forensic involvement / involvement of service users with experience of the criminal justice system

NSUN are looking to work closely with one or more service user groups on developing the voice of service users with direct experience of the Criminal Justice System and/or Forensic Services at a national level. We are preferably looking for a group or groups where the majority of members have this direct experience themselves. There may also be possibilities for individuals with this personal experience to also become involved in this area of our work.

If you are interested in either pieces of this work – or you’re like to find out more then contact us at our office:

The National Survivor User Network (NSUN) brings together groups and organisations in England that are run by users and survivors of mental health services in one national network.

NSUN is itself a user-led initiative and its membership is open to service users and survivors, organisations and groups that are led by them and anyone who is an ally of these organisations and groups.

NSUN aims to provide support to existing user-led groups and helps build capacity within the service user movement but does not represent the user movement and is not the voice of this movement.

We provide information and access to other forms of support to our members by working in partnership with other organisations that have similar aims and objectives.

We welcome enquiries about membership or other ways in which we can work together.
