The Eternal Student Throws out His Books
by James Walker
Inquisitive fool
That I should have sought answers
In church and scholar,
When plural – ology merely
Multiplied my confusion
Promising light but plunging me into darkness,
Until at last I found the truth for myself:
It is Death and nothing besides.
The texts of tombstones are all the literature I need
No educator more conclusive
One day even the universe will succumb to it.
