The Date Tree
(from Clocks Forward)
Little girl sat on top of a date tree.
Throwing dates to passing neighbours,
“Get down child you’re going to fall.”
But she’d stay on the tree laughing at the
neighbours and telling them
they were wise but she could take
care of herself – then she’d stuff herself
with dates, which upset her parents.
So many times they told her off
but did she care? Did she care?
No, not as long as she was up there.
